The Scorched Queen, she’s like the big shot who’s put you in charge of making things happen in this world that got messed up by some crazy Blightstorm. Your job? Reclaim the wild, find riches, and build up a bunch of settlements for the last surviving city, the Smoldering City.
But here’s the twist: it’s not just about one city. Nah, you gotta build up a whole network of settlements, each with different fantasy races living in them. You got humans, harpies, foxes, beavers, lizards—whole mixtape of folks! Now, the wilderness ain’t no walk in the park. It’s full of dangers, and there’s these never-ending storms that’ll beat your settlements down if you ain’t careful. Lose a settlement, and it’s not game over, but it sure ain’t good for your career as Viceroy.
This game’s got that roguelite vibe too, so each time you start a new journey into the wild, you keep the stuff you earned before—resources, upgrades, all that jazz. You gotta think smart though. Different races got different needs, from where they wanna live to what they wanna eat. You might need to make raincoats for some, brew ale for others, and bake pies just to keep morale up.
And don’t forget about the Scorched Queen. She’s always breathing down your neck, wanting progress. But you also gotta deal with these Blightstorms that keep wrecking your settlements. There’s a ton of stuff going on. Like, hundreds of gameplay modifiers and six different biomes, each with its own challenges. You gotta adapt to the weather, manage your resources, and maybe take some risks for big rewards.
